History

AIS first opened its doors in August 2006 with a Secondary campus in District 3 of Ho Chi Minh City. It was founded by Mr Nigel Russell and Mrs Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy in response to the increasing demand and lack of choice at that time for high quality international education in Ho Chi Minh City.

ACG International School Vietnam was founded and built by the Academic Colleges Group (ACG) in 2006 and opened in 2007. The impressive purpose built school is located in Thu Thiem at 264 Mai Chi Tho.

With excellent teachers and relentless investment in teaching and learning resources, the two schools quickly grew to over 500 students at each school.

In 2013, the Australian International School and ACG International School Vietnam merged to become one school, called “Australian International School“. The School is now one of the top IB World Schools in Vietnam with over 1100 students from 38 different nationalities at 3 campuses in District 2.

AIS is a member of ACG, a group of schools established in 1994 (www.acgedu.com). The Group’s main goals are to provide excellent academic outcomes from quality teaching and a superior quality of service.
