Parental Partnership

AIS Saigon is a school which recognizes the vital role parents play in a student’s learning journey. Contemporary research confirms that family involvement is one of the most powerful influences on young people’s achievements in school. It is a partnership where you as parents, who know your child best and who want the very best for your children, and the teachers, who are committed and dedicated to educating and caring for students, work together to ensure each child is supported, extended, challenged and guided through their schooling.

The potential for learning is enhanced when there is open dialogue between the home and school environment. The school works closely with parents through open and regular communication.

The school communicates in a variety of ways including:

  • Communication book, to allow daily dialogue between the teacher and parents

  • E-mail communication is welcome

  • Parental feedback is sought and welcomed throughout the year

  • Teacher meetings at the start of each semester, where parents are invited to meet the teacher and hear of the academic, social and community programmes their children will be engaged in. It is also an opportunity to meet your child’s peer group’s parent.

  • Regular letters and newsletters e-mailed to parents

  • Class parent noticeboards

  • Individual interviews at the request of the teacher or parent

  • Twice-yearly formal parent teacher interviews

  • Twice-yearly written reports

  • Informal contacts throughout the year.
