Student Leadership and Service

Formal student leadership roles and the Student Representative Councils in both primary and secondary school offer students the opportunity to develop and hone their leadership skills.

A commitment to service, locally and internationally is a key aspect of the school.

AIS has a long term student led partnership with Loreto Foundation to supply better education facilities to impoverished communities in the Mekong delta.

Performing and visual Arts

AIS has an outstanding reputation for visual and performing arts – it is a leader in HCMC. We have dedicated university partnerships for visual arts students. All students have the opportunity to perform on stage. In both primary and secondary school, students can sing and play in choirs, bands and musicals. Instruments include piano, guitar, recorder, drums, flute, ukulele and more.

AIS has a strong tradition of outdoor education that enables students to strengthen friendships, develop teamwork and leadership skills, and take risks as they participate in fun and challenging activities. Students in Years 4 to 8 and Year 10 attend school camp each year either in Vietnam or abroad

Award winning swimming facilities with outstanding coaches. Our dedicated sports program encourages participation and rewards excellence. AIS has also Inter-school and international sports competitions.

I am a student at the University of Massachusetts. I went on a year long exchange at the University of Manchester in England and am now a double major in Sociology and Sport Management. I also work as a professional soccer coach with an elite soccer high school managing the Junior Varsity team and I run a soccer school in Hanoi, called Hanoi Sports Academy. I have also been a community football coach with Manchester United Football Club. During my three years at AIS, the teachers were some of, if not, the best educators I have ever met. Now that I am an educator in youth sports, I appreciate even more how supportive, knowledgeable and resourceful my AIS teachers were.

When I think about AIS, I think of family - a very close-knit family. No matter what your background is, you can feel at home here. What l learned at AIS has proved so valuable to my university life and career. I learned how to learn, I learned to be curious and to ask questions. I learned to open my heart. Friends and teachers were always there to give you support - all I needed to do was ask. After AIS I went to Oxford. I graduated with a Bachelor in Mathematics. I now work at a travel tech start-up called Traveloka. It’s an exciting, fast-paced environment, working with people who used to be in top consulting firms and big four companies. I’m a Display Marketing Analyst. I work with numbers everyday, from budget allocation, campaign optimization and planning to achieve KPIs. I love working in my field and for a company that enables mobility.
