Elite Swim Team - Superfins
Swimming is a life-long sport that everyone can enjoy. Regular training and competition helps children build strength, aerobic fitness, coordination and stamina. Children who train and compete together also develop a competitive spirit within a close-knit team. Their discipline, concentration and confidence all improve, benefitting their performance in the classroom as much as in the pool. AIS’s swim programme provides a structured and safe environment within which students are encouraged to do their best. Saigon Superfins train two to four times each week in the School’s two 25m pools. The Head Swim Coach is internationally accredited and he offers a training programme that challenges and supports children, from beginners to record-breaking speedsters.
Walk n Wheels 2
On Friday 11 November all students from the Dynotots 2 to Year 5 participated in AIS’s 2nd annual Walk N Wheels event. The students walked or rode around the APSC Compound to raise money for Saigon Children’s Charity (SCC). The students rode on bicycles, scooters, ripsticks, skateboards and rollerblades. Some completed up to 10 laps of the compound. The students and families at AIS donated more $2700 to Saigon Children’s Charity. A cheque will be presented to Mr Paul Finnis, the Director of Saigon Children’s Charity on 9 December.
