Mr Peter O'Sullivan |
Mr O’Sullivan is an educator with many years of academic experience, 13 of which have been as Primary Principal in schools throughout Australia. He taught in Papua New Guinea (as Deputy Principal) and a number of private schools in Sydney, Australia. Mr O’Sullivan is an active enthusiastic leader, coordinating extra-curricula activities both in the school and in the wider community such as rugby, swimming, golf, outdoor education, water polo, athletics, basketball, and cricket; he has a strong interest in sports! He has led development programmes in most curriculum areas, including debate, chess, drama, eisteddfods, and Tournament of Minds. Mr O’Sullivan believes in strong communication between the parents and the school and that each child’s sense of well-being is of paramount importance in fostering a positive approach to learning. He believes learning should take place in an environment that is sensitive to the individual needs of the child, but is also challenging, rewarding and built on a foundation of sound educational standards. Mr O’Sullivan knows the AIS curriculum very well having taught at the school since the 2008/2009 academic year and both he and his family enjoy living in Vietnam with its richness and diversity. Mr O’Sullivan’s wife, Margaret, teaches at the secondary campus and their daughter, Alexandria, attends school at the AIS secondary campus. Blake, their oldest son, has commenced University studies this year in Australia. Mr O’Sullivan is delighted to be a part of the educational leadership team and excited to be an active member of the equally vibrant AIS school community. |
