 Mr Gill is a teacher with more than ten years experience across a variety of school settings, from running art workshops under a tent with Aboriginal Elders in the remote Kimberley region of Western Australia, to training teachers in contemporary ICT pedagogy. He has worked in both the primary and secondary sectors, with a focus on middle years education. Although Mr Gill has taught a range of subjects across the curriculum, his passion and depth of experience is in teaching art and technology.

Working in Australian Indigenous communities and schools gave Mr Gill invaluable cross-cultural experience and he enjoys the challenges and rewards of delivering education in settings that extend his understanding of different cultures. Mr Gill and his partner relocated to Ho Chi Minh City in 2006 and they are enjoying the opportunity to learn more about Vietnam and Asia. He loves the energy of Ho Chi Minh City and the warmth and humour of its people, and feels privileged to work in this country at such a time of change and development.
