I got to be a prefect during my senior year here and this helped me a lot in improving my leadership skills. As there is a lot of work in the IB, I started early in researching my choices for university. I had a good counsellor to help me.

The teachers guided and supported me. I had a lot of questions and they always made time for me. In addition to studying for the IB and preparing for university, I played football and baseball. It really helped to give me the energy I needed to succeed.

I was prepared for the IB. Everything I’ve been doing here has been for this moment – the report writing, the Theory of Knowledge, the IGCSE, volunteering. I’ve achieved everything with my friends and teachers supporting and motivating me, I wouldn’t have done what I have without them.

The AIS community is the most transformative from my time here. The teachers and students are really collaborative and energetic, in school events and academically, which has really pushed me to grow as a student and a person. During the IB, my friends motivated me and my teachers were the resources to help me achieve my goals. As the IB is intense, you have to prepare your university applications early. Create your road map and choose the subjects that will help you get there.

I chose my IB subjects based on what I want to do at university. My teachers helped me a lot too. They were not only there to teach me but to give me the mental support and the advice I needed to succeed

University of Manchester, England

I am a student at the University of Massachusetts. I went on a year long exchange at the University of Manchester in England and am now a double major in Sociology and Sport Management. I also work as a professional soccer coach with an elite soccer high school managing the Junior Varsity team and I run a soccer school in Hanoi, called Hanoi Sports Academy. I have also been a community football coach with Manchester United Football Club. During my three years at AIS, the teachers were some of, if not, the best educators I have ever met. Now that I am an educator in youth sports, I appreciate even more how supportive, knowledgeable and resourceful my AIS teachers were.

University of Melbourne , Australia

The most valuable thing from my time at AIS is the exposure to a very international environment, which perfectly prepared me for college life. At AIS, I made a lot of great friendships and I met some amazing teachers, who would continue to guide me through every walk of life. Under the IB Curriculum, I was taught to become an independent thinker who would not hesitate to challenge the status quo and come up with innovative solutions. My expected IB Grade at the end of Year 12 was below 30. I graduated with a 38! My time at AIS really unfolded my potential. I have just graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Finance (Class of 2017). I lived on campus at Ormond College, where I received a Scholar Award for High Achiever. Now I am off to Madrid to do my Double Masters in Management and Finance at IE Business School. After I graduate, I will take over the family business. My long-term goal is to transform the agriculture industry of Vietnam, leading the industry into sustainable development.
