Parents & Friends Group

Join the AIS Community

Australian International School (AIS) has an active, energetic and supportive Parents and Friends Group (PFG). The aim of the group is to build community spirit, strengthen the partnership between parents and the school, and connect parents to school life activities.

The PFG does this by:

  • Facilitating family social events such as play dates
  • Assisting teachers by coordinating volunteers to help with classroom events and excursions
  • Being involved in a number of school events each year including:
     – Welcome Back Party
     – Walk n’ Wheels and other charity fundraisers
     – AIS Christmas Party
     – Tet and Moon Festivals
     – Halloween Carnival
     – International Day

The PFG also has a strong focus on supporting those who are new to the AIS community. In order to help navigate families’ first weeks and months in the vibrant city and within the school community, AIS has created a Welcome Guide’ which provides a compilation of information, listings, maps, tips and contacts compiled by AIS parents.

Within each PFG, there are formal roles including Chair, Treasurer and (for primary school classes) Class Representatives. All parents of AIS students automatically become members of the group and are always welcome to attend meetings.

Joining the PFG is a great way to become more involved in the AIS Community and help contribute to the children’s educational experience.
