Diploma Requirements

To achieve an IB Diploma, six subjects (at least three of which must be at Higher Level) and the core requirements must be completed successfully.

The core requirements comprise three parts: Theory of Knowledge (a course that unifies and inter-relates the other areas of study); the Extended Essay (a substantial piece of independent research of 4,000 words) and participation in the CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service) Programme.

For their subjects, students choose one from each of Groups 1 to 5 (listed below) thus ensuring a breath of experience in Languages, Humanities, the Sciences and Mathematics. For their final subject (Group 6) students can choose Visual Arts, Music or an additional subject from Group 3 or 4.
