Swimming Programme

AIS Kidzone Swimming Programmes are led by experienced swimming coaches with national and international backgrounds in swimming. From the early ‘Waterbabies’ programme to the Advanced Swimming classes, we always go the extra mile to offer a personalised programme for each swimmer so as to maximise their potential. We acknowledge that each learner is an individual with unique skills and developmental needs, and we strive to develop each swimmer’s confidence, respect and enthusiasm for the sport.

Our aim is to promote excellent swimming in the community. We do this by providing comprehensive and high-quality swimming programmes with a special emphasis on developing young swimmers according to their age group and needs. Our programme is designed to develop discipline and technical skills as well as sportsmanship.

Waterbabies offers a fun and safe environment for children to develop confidence in and around water, as well as the motor skills necessary to swim. The primary goal of this swimming programme starting from 6-month infants up to 3-year-old toddlers is to ensure that children have a good understanding of water safety. Various games, activities, and songs are used to make learning enjoyable. The classes also encourage interaction between children and parents and allow the children to practise their skills without supervision.

Waterbabies lessons are 30 minutes long, with a child-to-teacher ratio of 7 to 1.

INFANTS / 6 months to 10 months
For babies who have never participated in a swimming session before, the Infant programme is the first stage of our Waterbabies programme, developing water confidence and safety for children, parents and caregivers. Babies learn with the help of songs, games and water toys while developing an enjoyment of being in the water.

WADDLERS/ 10 months to 18 months
This second stage of the Waterbabies programme aims to further develop water confidence and safety for children, parents and caregivers. The children learn everything with the help of songs, games and water toys, now recognising colours and different shapes.

TODDLERS 1/ 18 months to 36 months
This third stage works on developing water confidence and safety with a focus on strengthening submerging, floating, gliding and kicking skills. As in previous stages, the children learn everything with the help of songs, games and water toys.

TODDLERS 2/- 30 months to 36 months
This final stage of the Waterbabies programme encourages children to develop independence in submerging, floating, gliding and kicking, combining breath control and movement.

Lil Kix Swimming offers lessons for children aged 3 to 6, focusing on building confidence in the water and teaching basic swimming techniques. The classes are taught by experienced instructors with a focus on fun, games, and activities to help children enjoy learning to swim. There are three different groups available for this level, and each session lasts for 30 minutes with a child-to-teacher ratio of 3 to 1.

STARFISH 1/ Ages: 3+
This is a great class for students who are nervous or beginners. No previous swimming lesson or aquatic experience is required. We focus on becoming comfortable in and under the water for children to be happy with the teacher. Parents can participate if needed to support their child in the first few weeks.

STARFISH 2/ Ages: 3+
This class is for students who are already confident and comfortable in the water. We focus on water safety, independence, and introducing skills in and under the water, like breathing control, blowing bubbles, front/back floating, and kicking.

Basketball Programme

Join our dedicated basketball class, where children of all abilities and ages can learn the fundamental moves and skills of this team sports game. They will learn dribbling, passing, and shooting while having plenty of fun. Players will progress from learning basic movement and specific basketball skills to understanding more complex offensive and defensive tactical play. Children will develop at their own pace, with more complex tactical concepts gradually introduced as they become technically ready. To ensure maximum enjoyment, improvement, and game understanding, match scenarios and gameplay are emphasised throughout all levels and courses.

The U8s basketball group is ideal for children who show an interest in basketball and want to have a great time while getting to know the game. The coaches use a wide variety of activities and games to teach players the basics of the game and prepare them for high-level performance in the future.

The U11 & U14 team is the first chance for our young players to begin training for competition. The energetic coaches will focus on teaching the fundamentals of basketball as well as running games and activities. Participants will also have the chance to play in both friendly and competitive scenarios. This is a great class for the beginner player as well as a challenge for those young players wanting to improve their skills and techniques.

Football

We are excited to deliver entry-level football classes at the Sports Centre. These are open to boys and girls of all ability levels for each age group (U6 – U11). Students will be fully immersed in the sport and learn ways of developing technical and physical characteristics. We will introduce basic tactical concepts and support their all-round mental, emotional and interpersonal growth. As entry-level football classes, all sessions will be delivered in a fun, active and game-oriented format.

Class duration: 45 minutes

Students will gain awareness of their own bodies in relation to space, the ball, and their teammates. They will also learn to express themselves without fear. The activation of perceptive senses, development of attention span, listening, and understanding are also covered. These sessions help students develop basic motor skills, mobility, and coordination while enhancing focus and cognitive skills. Students will learn to trust their coach and work together with their teammates.

Class duration: 60 minutes

The main focus at this stage is on developing and improving basic motor skills and enhancing coordination. Teamwork and fostering a sense of belonging to a group are also emphasised. The U8 programme helps students become familiar with the ball, with particular emphasis on ball control and shooting on goal. Active participation and enjoyment in both individual and team challenges are prioritised.

Class duration: 60 minutes

This final stage focuses on refining basic motor skills and enhancing the child's technical and tactical abilities through play situations that require cooperation among group members. The programme also develops game management skills with a focus on events and competitive activities.

Baby Tigers are generally very new to hand-eye coordination-specific sports. Because of this, we spend more time on HEC (hand-eye coordination) training. The core of the lesson will introduce the most basic strokes in Pickleball. These shots include the dink, forehand and backhand, and punch volleys.

When students reach the tiger level, we can focus on more advanced techniques and teach them about strategy and rules. Because students at this age/ability level have longer attention spans and better verbal coherence, we can introduce harder strokes through specific workshops. Like in Baby Tigers, we will then use a series of drills to incorporate what they learned in the workshop. More advanced strokes include returns, serves, drops, and spins.

Karate

Karate is a popular Japanese martial art that has been practised for over 100 years. It is used for self-protection, self-defence, and as a sport. Our instructor is Black Belt Mr. Đăng, who is experienced, well-qualified, and dedicated. In our karate sessions, open to children aged 6 and above, we teach basic to advanced skills as well as self-restraint, discipline, and self-confidence. Karate sessions are 60 minutes each.
