“I was extremely happy and felt honoured,” Minh Khoa shared. “It meant that my efforts at AIS were truly recognised.”

Family played a significant role in the decision to apply. With siblings also pursuing high-quality education both locally and overseas, the scholarship helped ease pressure and provided reassurance that continued excellence was achievable.

“I was able to take part in touch rugby, table tennis, and leadership roles like being House Captain,” Minh Khoa said. “It really felt like a strong, connected community.”

Serving as House Captain – twice - proved especially impactful, helping Minh Khoa develop leadership, organisation, and confidence. Academically, mathematics also played a defining role, influencing future career aspirations.

Teachers at AIS are described by Minh Khoa as patient, approachable, and deeply invested in student success.

“They take the time to explain things step by step until you truly understand,” they said. “That support has helped me build a strong academic foundation.”

Some of the most memorable moments were also the simplest - like unwinding with classmates at the end of a demanding exam season, reinforcing the strong relationships that define the AIS learning environment.

The AIS Scholarship has unlocked opportunities for Minh Khoa that may not have otherwise been possible, including SAT preparation courses and participation in high-level competitions.

“Being awarded the scholarship confirmed that my abilities were recognised,” Minh Khoa said. “That belief made me more confident in myself and what I can achieve.”

Looking ahead, AIS has played a key role in preparing Minh Khoa for university and beyond. Leadership experiences, co-curricular involvement, and the breadth of the IB Diploma have helped build a well-rounded profile for international study.

With aspirations to pursue electrical engineering in the United States, Minh Khoa hopes one day to establish a technology firm and make a meaningful global impact.
