After working as a journalist and newspaper editor in England for 13 years, Mr Beales moved to Thailand in 2004. He has since held a number of positions in international schools, including Head of English, Head of Secondary and IB Diploma Coordinator. He is also an examiner for IGCSEs and the IB Diploma. When not teaching, Mr Beales writes for Lonely Planet and other publications, and enjoys spending time with his wife and their two children.

This is Leanne’s fourth year working at AIS Saigon. Previously Leanne was the Year 4 teacher and Literacy Coordintor at Thu Thiem campus and has now taken the position of the PYP Coordinator. Leanne enjoys the academic and personal challenges that the PYP Programme provide the learning community and she is very passionate about the environment, especially in reducing plastic waste. Prior to working at AIS Saigon, she spent twelve years working in International Schools in Jakarta, Indonesia where she taught various primary classes as well as being in leadership positions. Leanne continues to enjoy living and working in Vietnam and she is excited for future challenges and experiences

Dave is Coordinator of the English as an Additional Language (EAL) Program. An experienced teacher and educational leader from Australia, Dave is very excited to join the AIS team, along with his wife Ruth (Year 1 Teacher) and their four children.

Prior to relocating to Vietnam in 2018, Kate spent 8 years working with schools and councils across London focusing on the social, emotional and educational needs of children from diverse backgrounds. Kate is a systemically trained practitioner who has worked with countless children and their families to promote child welfare and achieve the best outcomes for students. Kate has previously worked abroad in Nicuragua, Central America and Uganda, Africa. Since arriving in Vietnam she has linked with a number of NGO's to promote the safeguarding and welfare of children in Vietnam. Kate is looking forward to supporting students at AIS and becoming part of the AIS community.
