IB update

Australian International School (AIS) is now part of a global network of students who are set to discuss a range of important issues.

The school is part of the Inspired Global Student Leadership Committees. This is a group of more than 70 schools in over 20 countries that will meet online to discuss eight global issues.

An initial meeting was held with the leading students, including AIS Head Girl Samadhi Jayasuriya, where the main aims of the group were explained to teachers from around the world.

The goal is to link these global issues with existing lessons to tie in with what students are already learning. More details will be sent to schools soon, including how students can sign up and be part of truly worldwide discussions and actions!

AIS STUDENTS TO TALK AT MELBOURNE FORUM

Students from AIS are set to talk about their experiences of international education at an Australian forum. The Asia Education Foundation is a part of the University of Melbourne. On October 21 it is holding an online forum for Year 9 students to learn more about global citizenship, identity and culture.

As part of this, the foundation invited AIS students to join in and talk about their own education, the effects the pandemic has had, and their hopes for the future.

Ten IB students from Years 12 and 13 have volunteered to take part in this. They will also have the chance to hear from some interesting keynote speakers who will talk about the environment and multicultural experiences.
